“The resignation came at the initiative of the employer, on my initiative, as head of the service … The dismissal is a sanction,” Stanislovaitis told BNS on Thursday.
According to him, the dismissal is related to the findings of the official inspection.
“This is the result of the conclusions and suggestions made by the official inspection commission,” said the head of the service.
The head of the State Service for Protected Areas A. Stanislovasčius was recommended to conduct an official inspection at the Directorate of the Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve in mid-September after the internal audit of the service’s long-term asset management carried out by the Ministry of the Environment.
The audit document establishes that it is proposed to carry out an official inspection on the legality of the transfer of the state land areas administered by the right of trust of the Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve to natural persons for free use.
Also due to the coordination of public and private interests, ensuring the declaration and adequate control of the declaration of private interests and the risk of abuse that the reserve equipment, its implements and fuel can be used for the management of plots of natural persons. .
A. Stanislovaitis, when asked if the dismissal of the director of the Žuvintas Reserve is related to the transfer of these plots to private individuals, stated that it is related to certain contracts, but did not specify them.
“It is about the legality of certain legal documents, the processes followed and the conclusion is the review of certain contracts. They are related to the signing of legal agreements ”, said A. Stanislovaitis.
He stated that the police had not yet been contacted due to these circumstances.
“So far, we have not approached the police about this,” said the director of the service.
According to him, the competition for the position of a new reserve manager is scheduled to be announced next year.
“Not really this year, because there is still an appeal period, usually the other half can appeal such things within a month … Apparently, we will decide next year,” said A. Stanislovaitis.
A.Pranaitis, director of the Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve, told BNS on Wednesday that he was “leaving his job” and that he intends to work as an ecologist for the reserve.
He said that “to some extent” this was also related to the audit.
A. Pranaitis has managed the Žuvintas reserve since 2002, when its then leader, the famous naturalist Vytautas Nedzinskas, died.
President Gitanas Nausėda plans to visit the Directorate of the Žuvintas Biosphere Reserve on Friday.
