However, the pharmacist of “Eurovaistinė” says that eating tangerines is worth the calculation and should not exceed 300 grams or about 6 pieces of fruit per day.
When you bring in a bag of mandarin oranges from the store before the holidays, it just melts. Karolina Kudzinskienė, a pharmacist at Eurovaistinė, says that enjoying the mandarin season can be very helpful.
“They are rich in antioxidants, which are very useful for us – they protect against chronic diseases, strengthen immunity and help keep the skin glowing and beautiful, in addition, tangerines have vitamin B, folic acid. Of course, by eating tangerines, we will also get the full recommended daily amount of vitamin C, ”he says in a press release.
It is true that mandarins are also rich in carbohydrates, which not only provide energy, but also when consumed in moderation, they can cause extra kilos. 100 grams of this citrus fruit contains 54 calories.
K. Kudzinskienė warns that despite the benefits of mandarins, they should be considered a dessert, due to the abundance of carbohydrates and vitamin C they contain. “It is better to eat after no more than 2-3 tangerines immediately and try not to exceed 6-10 tangerines a day, but it should be noted that the size of the tangerines is not the same, so the amount per orientation is 300 grams ”, he comments.
It can cause digestive problems.
The pharmacist remembers that it is very important to rinse tangerines well with hot water before eating them, since they are often sprayed with various substances that can cause allergies, indigestion or poisoning.
Tangerines can also cause indigestion if eaten in large quantities, because, as the pharmacist observes, people sometimes forget and, for example, eat more tangerines than recommended while watching television.
It is especially recommended to limit the amount of tangerines for those allergic to them. According to the pharmacist, they are usually unable to eat more than 1-2 tangerines or be forced to give them up altogether, but it is important to remember that many people only benefit from the smell of tangerines, which often makes them feel good and sparks positivity.
