This is how people who have built or bought houses live in Galgiai. Although the construction of more than 30 kilometers of water supply networks in this settlement was due to be completed in September 2017, there is still no water.

One official, who was approached by the residents of Galgiai, who had lost their patience, even cynically joked that the water supply in this settlement was like a national stadium.
Construction begins multiple times and is by no means completed.
Questions without answers
G.Barbaraušienė said that none of his neighbors in Galgiai not only built a house, but also completed the installation, fixed the furniture, but could not live.
According to her, it has only recently become clear that Vilniaus Vandenys is not taking over the running of the networks due to defects. It used to be hidden.
The position of the Vilnius District Municipality also seems strange: it only monitors the disagreement between the contractor and the administrator Vilniaus Vandenys regarding the quality of the networks built and does not provide a clear solution to the situation if the parties do not reach an agreement. .
“The municipality only promises to organize a remote meeting with residents and answer questions of interest, but so far no one has received an invitation,” said G.Barbaraušienė.
For the house bought in Galgiai, as well as for the rented temporary house, it is necessary to pay how to heat the premises without water, it is not at all clear.
“Of course, a bureaucrat who is not responsible for anything will never understand this,” sighed the woman.
Old wells were also found
Not only the Galgiai settlers suffer, but also the elderly, who were also tempted by the promises.

After all, when the construction of the water supply system is completed, your own equipment will have to be excavated and destroyed.

The authorities do not explain anything
The Galgiai people told many institutions about their problems, they even addressed the Presidency, but all to no avail.

At present, the home installation work has almost completely stopped due to the unclear date of the water connection.
In addition, the master transported the water needed for finishing work in plastic containers from his home or supermarket.
“We plan to move into a new house as early as May.

He received a cynical comment from Viktoras Tankeliunas, director of the project implementation company Nemėžio komunalininkas, that the company is not responsible for the economic losses of the population, as it has no written obligations to them.
By the way, the residents of this company were forced to wait a month and a half for a response.
The municipality is also quiet. According to G.Barbaraušienė, if the municipality clearly indicates that many defects have been found in the water supply networks, they will not be quickly repaired, officials promise to sue, which will take time, the family is determined to invest in a well and a local sewage disposal system.

By the way, the owners of several houses on Rasakilų street have raised money without hatred and are currently building their water supply networks on their own. They have also committed to installing local sewage disposal systems.

Saulė Linkaitė-Tverskienė’s family bought the plot in Galgiai in July 2018, and by April of the following year the house was already finished.
“Since then, the house has been empty, although we could live in it. We have installed a sewage system without being hated, but we are still forced to rent a house, ”said the woman.

Galgiai elders are also forced to participate in the water supply. Vanda Zabulienė, an old man from Galgiai, who has lived in this settlement for a decade, carries water from a spring, and Tomas and his father are looking for a company that removes the wastewater every month. It costs between 50 and 70 euros.
The agency that provided the funds only complains
The Environmental Project Management Agency, which provided funding for the failed water and sewerage network project, has indicated that it intends to discuss further steps with all parties in the near future.
Ignotas Šalavėjus, director of the agency, indicated that in case of non-compliance with the contractual obligations of the executors of the Nemėžio komunalininkas project, an investigation of the infringement will be initiated and financial corrections may be applied.
The deadline for the implementation of the project is June 30. However, the installation of the third phase of networks has already begun, so the deadline will be extended.
