The drawings were made on rocks that stretched for nearly eight miles; archaeologists called the discovery “the ancient Sistine Chapel,” according to The Guardian.
The age of the drawings is based on the fact that the drawings depict long-extinct glacial animals, such as the mastodon (a prehistoric representative of the elephant family), which is no longer at least 12,500 years old in South America. The drawings also depict other prehistoric animals such as the Paleolama, extinct relatives of camels, giant lazy horses, and glaciers.
These animals were seen and drawn by the first people to come to Ammon. His drawings allow us to take a look at an ancient lost civilization. Most importantly, the discovery is so great that it will probably take more than one generation of scientists to study all the drawings.

The drawings were discovered last year, but it was decided not to report them yet. The drawings are in a particularly remote area of the Serranía de la Lindosa, which is difficult to access: it takes two hours to drive and then the archaeologists march for 4 hours. “The new site is so new that they don’t even have a name yet,” says archaeologist Ella Al-Shamahi.
He spoke of the great thrill of seeing “promising” drawings made thousands of years ago.

These areas are rich in endangered wildlife such as alligators (alligator crocodiles) and even some of the most dangerous snakes. Their bites are 80 percent. the probability that a person dies. Archaeologists say that once such a snake got in their way, but they had no choice, they had to go through it, because the topic is already very high. And while biting such a snake has no real chance of reaching the hospital, Al-Shamahi says it is still 100 percent. drawings worth seeing
As already mentioned, the discovery was made by a team of British and Colombian scientists. “Once it’s there, it just exudes emotion. We are talking about several tens of thousands of drawings. It will take time to be able to describe them all. Behind every turn, more and more drawings. We see animals that are now extinct. The drawings are so natural and so well created that there is almost no doubt that you are looking at a horse, for example. The ice age horse had a large, wild snout. The drawing is so detailed that you can even see the horse hair. It is amazing ” said José Iriarte, team leader and professor of archeology at the University of Exeter, an expert in Amazonian and pre-Columbian history.

The drawings also show fish, turtles, lizards, birds, and people dancing hand in hand. One of the people wears a mask that resembles a bird with a beak. The drawings are also high on the rocks, so archaeologists are left to consider how these prehistoric people managed to climb there.
Scientists believe that many more discoveries await them, because so far “they have barely scratched the surface.”
