“One person or another may be heard in the talks, but they will be evaluated only when the coalition agrees on the ministries under their supervision,” P. Mačiulis told News Radio on Tuesday morning.

“Currently no specific personnel are coordinated,” he added.

According to the President’s Advisor, the formation of a new Government as soon as possible is a priority, but currently it is developing as usual and not late, and the cooperation between future rulers and the Presidency continues to function smoothly.

“The ruling majority is really determined to coordinate the candidacies with the president, I don’t think there is any disagreement or problem here,” said P. Mačiulis.

He also stated that the right-wing candidate for prime minister Ingrida Šimonytė and President Gitanas Nausėda have good relations.

“The relationship is excellent, most of the questions overlap,” he said.

The leaders of the Lithuanian Christian National-Democratic Union (TS-LKD), the Liberal Movement and the Freedom Party signed an agreement in the Seimas on Monday to form a new ruling coalition.

The coalition partners pledged to support the coalition government led by I. Šimonytė.

He hopes to have some candidates for the future Cabinet of Ministers before the first session of the Seimas on Friday, at which time it will be known who will be offered leadership positions in the Seimas.

Viktorija Čmilytė-Nielsen, leader of the Liberal Movement, confirmed that the party is seeking the post of parliamentary leader.

Freedom Party leader Aušrinė Armonaitė confirmed that she had proposed about ten possible names of ministerial candidates to the prime ministerial candidate.

In a coalition agreement document signed on Monday, the right-wing parties set out their value commitments, key priorities, short-term work and the procedure for drawing up the government program.

Following the signing of this agreement, negotiations will begin on the Government program and ministerial portfolios and positions in the Seimas.

The new government should be led by I. Šimonytė, the leader of the conservative list. The coalition will have 74 representatives in the Seimas of 141.
