SFVS staff responsible for animal welfare who came to the designated location were surprised to see the condition of the dog Martha. The dog’s owner, Jolanta, had already received prior SFVS checks from her other dogs, so the woman was known to the service. Martha urgently needed medical help!
Without waiting for anything, the Jolanta dogs voluntarily handed over the pet and the volunteers came to the public institution Būk mano draugas and took the suffering animal to the Klaipėda veterinary clinic. “French” was diagnosed with pyometra and anemia. When the puppy was taken from the owners, it was immediately taken to the vets, and the poorly maintained French Bulldog needed urgent surgery.
“We have received a request for assistance from Tauragė SFVS to house and provide urgent medical assistance to a French bulldog in very poor condition. To give the puppy the necessary help and the possibility of survival, it was agreed with the owners that they would leave it in our care. On the way to Klaipeda, we asked the vet. Dr. Dalia Kujelienė to greet us without queuing.
After the exam, the first verdict was urgent surgery. The puppy had a purulent discharge from its uterus. Pyometry and anemia were diagnosed. During the operation, the only thing left to do was to pray that he would survive and endure anesthesia with such an exhausted body, ”writes the public institution Būk mano draugas on the social network.
For a dog who has undergone a difficult operation, this is just the beginning. They are waiting for a long treatment and the search for new and better hosts.
