A. Guoga will seek the mandate of a Seimas member with the Labor Party.
Participants in the electoral campaign had the right to register until Monday, July 20.
A. Guoga, 46, according to the CEC website, will run from the Labor Party in the single-member Trakai-Vievis constituency.
This constituency is the constituency of the Polish Lithuanian Election Campaign: the representative of the Union of Christian Families in the Seimas, the Minister of Transport and Communications Jaroslav Narkevičius.
The politician was elected here twice in a single-member election, and during the 2016 elections he entered the Seimas according to the party list, lagging behind the liberal Jonas Liesis.
Dangutė Mikutienė represented the Labor Party in the last Seimas elections in Trakai, but did not enter the Seimas.
Guoga’s decision to return to politics has not led to a shortage of speeches recently.
They were lit by a photo posted on Facebook over the weekend by a politician, in which Labor Party President Viktor Uspaskich MEP is also with A. Guoga’s family.
According to the available data, the latter does not run for the Seimas, but publicly announces that he will assume the Prime Minister’s presidency if the Labor Party votes in favor.
V. Uspaskich has publicly hinted that after the elections he could form a coalition with the National Union led by Gabrielius Landsbergis, the Lithuanian Christian Democrats.
The MEP also praised the current head of government delegated by the “peasants”, calling him the “best prime minister”.
However, in the publicly presented Labor Party program, V. Uspaskich ruthlessly sympathized with the “peasants”, the Social Democrats and the social workers.
Antanas Guoga was elected to the European Parliament with the flag of the Lithuanian Liberal Movement, but a few years later he resigned from the Liberals.
