The third stage of the Lithuanian Trio Championship happened in Ukmergė, where the Šakiai team “Vytis-Gulbelė” triumphed.
Vyčio-Gulbelė, based on the Lithuanian national team, represented by Marijus Užupis, Paulius Beliavičius, Šarūnas Vingelis and Aurelijus Pukelis, had no problems with Prienai Cbet in the final – 21: 7.
In the semifinals, “Vytis-Gulbelė” beat the Kaunas district team “Tauras” represented by Jonas Mačiulis, who debuted in the basketball trio – 6:17 pm.
“We knew we were still weaker than them, so we tried to win in other ways and we almost made it.” Everything is fine, there are still those matches and next time we will have to win, ”Mačiulis, 35, told the Vytis-Gulbelė team after the loss.
Tauras, who won first place in Tauragė last week, finished third, and Kėdainiai’s Naniet team finished fourth.
Two more teams participated in Ukmergė, preparing for the Hoptrans 3×3 tournament in Palanga starting next weekend: Panevėžys Lietkabelis and Utena Juventus-Uniclub.
“Lietkabelis” landed “Naniet” in the quarterfinals at 12:21 and stayed in seventh place. At that time, the Utenians dropped Cbet in the quarterfinals at 16:21 and took sixth place in the tournament.
