“First of all, Roland had the absolute trust of the club’s stakeholders and during this time he really did a great job: he joined in the youth pyramid, contributed to the transition to the FIBA Champions League, but could not avoid mistakes.” Gudelis said. – In February, Roland himself asked for help because there was a problem with finances, payments to players were delayed and the administration was stagnant. Then we started paying more attention to financial accounting, where we found irregularities. I’m not saying it was an intentional act, but after the audit we decided to say goodbye to Roland. “
“Saulius Kulvietis is an obvious mistake,” Gudelis continued. – This situation can damage the club. Now we are actively talking with the player and his agent and I think we will solve everything in the next two weeks. These were basic errors of the administration: certain procedures were not done in time, perhaps the player himself did not mention that he had ankle surgery in the summer, but I see the desire on both sides to resolve this situation.
Another mistake is the David Sirvydis situation. It was only with a joint effort, with the stakeholders, that we solved it without loss, but the management made unacceptable mistakes. The player’s apartment was not paid on time, although the salary was not delayed. Naturally, we wanted to win with Sirvydis, but the lack of response to the agent’s calls led us to receive a letter that the contract was being unilaterally terminated due to the club’s breach. This is an unforgivable mistake.
The same happened with the club’s internal regulations, which everyone must follow, but its players and coaches were only signed after last Wednesday’s shareholders’ meeting ”.
