Benitas Jonikas, the head of Klaipėda Water, announced that he had received confirmation from specialists that Grigeo Klaipėda had fulfilled the connection conditions.

“I received confirmation from Klaipėdos ūdens employees that Grigeo Klaipėda fulfilled the connection conditions: he built sample automatic shovels, guaranteed the possibility of data transfer and is ready to sign a temporary contract,” B. Jonikas told BNS.

“We will accept limit values for your pollutants for one month,” he added.

According to B. Jonikas, the agreement with Grigeo Klaipėda will be signed on Friday.

“We plan to sign a contract today, so that they can start their own factory and production at some point.” We are ready to accept your wastewater with a monthly limit, “said the head of” Klaipėdos ūdens “.

Klaipėda Water’s facilities have been operating at near maximum capacity since January when Grigeo Klaipėda’s cleanup and contaminants were operating, and the contamination exceeded the agreed standards in connection conditions. In mid-May, the company refused to continue treating the wastewater from the panel factory, forcing it to suspend operations.

Grigeo Klaipeda himself says that “each hour of inactivity costs the company thousands of euros”.

Grigeo Klaipeda will be able to sign a new agreement on wastewater acceptance only for a short period. B. Jonikas previously said that a long-term contract can only be concluded when the cardboard company performs the initial wastewater treatment at its Dumpiai treatment plant.

Grigeo Klaipėda cannot use this treatment plant because she has been arrested. The company asked Klaipeda regional prosecutors to change this decision, but the request was rejected.

Grigeo Klaipėda appealed to the court against the prosecutors’ decisions not to use the Dumpiai treatment plant.
