“Yes, there will be changes,” confirmed the head of state in an interview on Wednesday. However, when asked to detail what specifically will change, the president spoke in the abstract. According to him, such changes are natural and he, emphasized G. Nausėda, has made no promises not to change teams during the entire legislature.
“The change will be because I made a lot of electoral promises, mainly for the welfare state, but nowhere did I make a promise to remain with my team unchanged during my term. I think it is a natural living organism when we have to react to realities, to respond to a changing environment. Then there will be changes, and when they will be there, they will be announced ”, explained the president.
We remind you that in 2020. In the summer, the three main advisers of G. Nausėda changed. Jonas Vytautas Žukas, Sonata Šulcė and Aistis Zabarauskas graduated from the Presidency.
The president did not confirm that the planned changes to the team are related to his senior adviser, Simon Krėpšta. The latter has already been mentioned as a possible candidate for the post of chairman of the board of the Bank of Lithuania (LAC), following the hints of the president in Verslo žinios.
However, this time G. Nausėda admitted that S. Krėpšta is one of the candidates to replace Vita Vasiliauskas as Chairman of the Board of LAC.
“We are currently considering a number of nominations, Mr. Krėpšta is one of them. But of course there are more arguments and reasons that will determine the decision. And one of those reasons is, believe me, that I consider Mr. Krepsta as a of the strongest people on my team and it would be difficult for me to be with him, “said the president.
G. Nausėda pointed out that currently 4-5 candidates are mentioned for the position of Chairman of the Board of LAC.
“In practice, we have started consultations with them. Then, when we reach one or another decision, of course, with due respect, we will coordinate the candidacy with the Seimas factions and with the Seimas in general,” said G. Nausėda.
The current Chairman of the Board of LAC Vitas Vasiliauskas will end his second term in April.
