“I’ll be honest, I did not forget my election, which took place a year ago,” Nausėda, host of the Richard Quest program, said several times in an interview broadcast Thursday to evaluate the first US presidential debate.
“I remember it was hot in them too, but after all you reach out to your opponent and thank him for helping you to be better,” said the President of Lithuania.
He added that he wished the United States a transparent election that did not lack serious issues.
“My wish is that the elections are transparent and contain very serious questions about the economy, foreign policy, social life, etc.”, said G. Nausėda.
In an interview, the CNN president emphasized that he was confident that the United States would remain Lithuania’s strategic partner and an important part of NATO even after the elections.
G. Nausėda said that despite residing in the White House, Lithuania will maintain good relations with the United States.
