The mother of a kindergarten child says that this is the most likely provocation in the context of current events. For her part, the kindergarten director is convinced that the rainbow is a symbol of childhood, not an official LGBT community. It also clearly separated the children’s homework from a divisive discussion about families and values.
To the news portal lrytas.lt The mother of a child who was attending the “Mažylių universata” kindergarten approached and claimed that the kindergarten had made fun of parents who appreciated traditional values.
Parents see provocation
“Throughout the year, the children studied simple topics, but this week has turned into a week of genre. The children drew every day, experimenting only with rainbows. Of course, the manager was proud of how those rainbows would decorate the children’s rooms.
The pinnacle! When there is such a strong division of the country, the educational institution is put aside and clearly spreads the ideology of gender ”, the mother resented.
The woman claims that with such actions, the kindergarten director allegedly provokes parents who appreciate traditional values.
“Why right now, when the situation on this issue is so tense? We, like the parents of many other children, support the traditional family, but such a leap is not only an intrusion of our opinions about minors, but also a direct message to the children’s parents, a mockery. Doesn’t the intrigue that takes place in the country after educational institutions have to spread?
Shouldn’t kindergartens become a hotbed of provocations, making it clear to parents that families are not the value of such institutions? The young mother thought.
Observations hurt, but I don’t see the problem
In turn, Agata Kmitaitė, the head of the Mažylių universe for the portal lrytas.lt commented that the kindergarten program was developed in September 2020, and each week has its own theme.
“It turns out that after the Family March we have a week of rainbows and colors. What we do through it is do experiments, mix colors, experiment with sweets. It’s about colors and the traditional rainbow ”, explained the head of the educational institution.
According to her, the kindergarten did not receive any observation or criticism from her parents, but she is hurt by the wrong and narrow attitude.
“It is very unfortunate and painful for me that parents begin to see provocations in the drawings of two-year-olds. Is the issue of those minorities already too sensitive for us to see these provocations everywhere? Because there really weren’t here.
Probably the most painful thing here is that the child can no longer draw a rainbow. I myself see no problem in that, because it is not an official minority sign that we cannot use.
We do not support genderism, and the rainbow itself is a symbol of childhood for me, ”said A. Kmitaitė.
She added that she supports the traditional family herself, trying to instill traditional values in children.
