Andrzej Poczobut, an activist and journalist from the Polish Trade Union in Belarus (SPB), is detained for three days in a criminal case, the Belarusian Journalists Association (BJA) said on Thursday.
“The journalist Andrzej Poczobut, detained in Grodno, was taken to the central office of the Minsk Investigation Committee, where he was interrogated. Andrzej Poczobut was detained for 72 hours in a criminal case,” the association reported.
According to the BJA, there are currently 12 media workers detained in Belarus.
The SPB has previously reported that law enforcement agencies are conducting searches of the organization’s activists’ homes.
“In Valkaviskis, militiamen have searched the home of Maryja Ciškouska, president of the local branch of the Polish Union in Belarus and a member of the main board of the SPB, and in Grodno, in Andrzej Poczobut,” the organization said on Wednesday.
