Four signatories of the March 11 Law will work on the new Seimas

According to the preliminary results of Sunday’s Seimas elections, the terms of current Seimas member, signatory Emanuelis Zingeris and former European Parliament member Laima Liucija Andrikienė were won with the National Union – Lithuanian Christian Democrats (TS-LKD).

The elections were also a success for the signatories of the March 11 Law, Eugenijus Gentvilas and Kęstutis Glaveckas, who entered the new parliament with the Liberal Movement. They currently work in the opposition faction Movimiento Liberal del Seimas.

The signatories entered the Seimas according to the party lists, but in the single-member electoral districts their success did not accompany them. They did not reach the second round of the elections.

In the Telšiai constituency, LL Andrikienė, who won 13.87 percent. votes, he was fourth among all candidates. In the northern constituency of Samogitia, E. Zingeris collected 8.39 percent. votes and also remained in fourth position.
E. Gentvilas sought the mandate in the Pilaitė-Karoliniškės constituency, but obtained 11.11 per cent. votes, he was fourth, so he abandoned the fight for the mandate.

In the single-member constituency of Žirmūnai, K. Glaveckas, who received 7.30 percent. votes cast, he was third.
