According to Kristina Janulevičienė, a representative of the Alytus County Police, they were arrested when the police stopped an Estonian-registered Mercedes-Benz Vito car driven by a Russian-speaking man for a roadblock in Alytus-Marijampolė.

“Four people accompanied him who did not present their identity documents. They were handed over to the agents of the State Border Guard Service, ”said a police representative.

Border guards will continue to identify detainees.

The Alytus district police forces are looking for illegal immigrants who have left the territory of the old school. There were 32 of them, two of which had been previously found and returned to the accommodation.

In search of migrants, the State Border Guard Service launched its helicopter into the air.

This year, a record number of illegal immigrants, more than 4,000, entered Lithuania through the border with Belarus.

Lithuanian officials call the increased migration flows a hybrid aggression by the Belarusian regime. As a result, a state of emergency has been declared in the country.
