Advice from foresters
After buying a Christmas tree, do not rush to build it inside the house and decorate it immediately. It’s important to give the plant time to get used to the temperature difference, so it would be good to keep it in a garage or other slightly cooler space in the house for a few days until the plant gets used to it. Do not place a Christmas tree near a radiator or fireplace. If the floor in the room gets hot, lift the tree off the ground.
It is important to water potted trees regularly, at least once a week. Spraying water on tree branches also helps, although it is more difficult to do when the tree is decorated. When buying a cross tree, it is recommended to keep it on a stand with a water tank that always has at least some water in it. It is not advisable to fertilize tree pots; it will be possible to do this after planting them in the spring.
The employees of the State Forest Enterprise wish you a warm, cozy and woodsy Christmas.
