On Thursday, agents of the Kalvarija border guard from the SBGS Var SBna border team inspected a Mercedes-Benz car with a trailer that had just arrived from Poland at the Salaperaugis village of the Kalvarija municipality, on the Suwałki – Marijampolė highway. These vehicles are marked with Lithuanian registration numbers.

The car, which was carrying four used Western European cars, was driven by a 38-year-old Marijampolė resident. You are employed by an employee of a company registered in Lithuania.

A review of the documents of the cars transported by the border guards revealed that the Toyota RAV-4 SUV manufactured in 2016 is suspected of being stolen and searched by Dutch law enforcement officers. The search for this vehicle was published a few days ago.

A pre-trial investigation has been initiated in the Varėna border team of the SBGS in relation to the acquisition or sale of illicitly obtained property. The car was removed from the truck and stored at the Calvario border barrier.

The driver was questioned by border guards and allowed to continue his journey and transport the other three cars with the corresponding documents.

This was the second case of its kind this week in the Kalvarija border firewall operation area. On Monday, officers stopped two 2016 Toyota CH-R and Toyota RAV-4 SUVs transported to Lithuania by truck. These vehicles have been wanted by the Dutch police since the beginning of September.
