“I was informed that the party member will temporarily suspend his party membership until the investigation is carried out,” party leader Ramūnas Karbauskis told BNS on Saturday.
According to him, V. Rinkevičius cooperates with the security forces in the investigation.
“I am also informed that the former member of the Seimas is cooperating with the forces of order. Knowing that the accusations against members of our party are rare, and generally not confirmed, I believe that this case may be the same,” said the president of the “peasants.”
In the FNTT’s investigation into possible fraud and document falsification, a search was carried out this week in the city and district of Biržai, and documents were seized in a company related to a former member of the Seimas, a peasant Viktoras Rinkevičius. .
The company is run by the wife of former MP Birutė Rinkevičienė.
V. Rinkevičius told BNS on Saturday that he had not been detained for questioning by FNTT officials, but had been in contact with them.
V. Rinkevičius was a member of the Seimas for three terms: 2000-2004, 2004-2008 and 2016-2020. He is currently said to be a farmer.
