On Saturday night, the Laisvės Alley fountain, which began operating in early May, attracted the attention of Kaunas residents. Two massive tiles covering its sides fell onto the pavement, one split in half. It is still unclear if they did not withstand the summer heat or if the hands of the wicked were joined.

Linas, a resident of Kaunas, informed the editorial staff of the kauno.diena.lt portal about the image seen in the favorite walk on the night of August 8.

“If the musical fountain began to collapse so quickly, what awaits the rebuilt Laisvės Alley? Surprisingly, the modern fountain is collapsing. The contractor should fix the defect,” the man resented.

When journalists contacted representatives of the Kauno Švara company’s emergency service on Sunday morning, it became clear that the incident had not been reported.

“Yesterday no one called, but today, when we found out, an employee on duty would go to the place, record, if possible, fix something, locate the emergency situation and pass the report to the responsible persons on the order of the source”, said an employee of the Kauno švaras emergency service.

According to Kaunas County officials, there was also no report received on the tiles falling from the Laisvės Alley fountain. “We don’t have such a property damage report. If ‘Kauno švaras’ representatives go to the scene, maybe they will call us in addition,” said the Kano County Police Chief Commissioner (VPK) on duty.

Smart water splashes

We remind you that after renovating the Laisvės Alley fountain and allowing it to operate again on May 7, Kaunas residents were able to see the modern technologies installed that allow them to program the water currents upstream in various ways. They opened up opportunities to change the fountain dance and present it to visitors more and more as a new renaissance.

During the reconstruction, the architects told what the fountain would look like. According to them, it was decided to keep the same composition of the bubbles and the fountain pool, because it is a work of art that has become a postcard of Kaunas. However, even these fountain elements have been updated, now visitors are drawn to the sparkling bubbles.

Still, the essence of the fountain is water, so changes are welcome here. In the past, the fountain would rumble in a single rhythm, tickling the bottom of the bubbles in the middle of the fountain from below.

But now the fountain splashing possibilities will be limitless, everything can be programmed, and the water jets can be programmed in a variety of ways, shooting up and down and letting it flow. In addition, the water dance has now been supplemented with light elements that can also change.

“It just came to our knowledge then. The possibilities of running currents are enormous. From the selection of the program, the water will be able to shoot both upwards and screech at lower currents, react to music. Various variable lights will also create your aura. Modern technologies allow all this to be done freely, “architect Asta Kiaunienė previously told the kauno.diena.lt portal.
