The largest number of calls was in Vilnius County: 16, after 10 calls were recorded in Panevėžys and Alytus counties, a specialist from the Situation Coordination Division of the Department of Fire Protection and Rescue informed BNS ( PAGD).

“There were no special events, people were not injured, at least we did not have that information,” said a PAGD spokesperson.

In Vilnius, Šeškinės Street and Marijampolė County, two cases were reported when trees fell on cars.

Due to heavy rains, some streets in Vilnius were flooded on Saturday night and traffic stopped.

Delfi recalls that yesterday, after a very hot week, Lithuania was swept away by a storm. Heavy rains are reported to have flooded Kaunas, Vilnius residents speak of hail.

Extremely heavy rains were reported in the Kaunas district, on the Kačerginė Nemunas ring road, where racing enthusiasts currently gather.

Vilnius district residents share trees broken by high winds and overturned along the way.

Heavy rains are also reported to wash the capital, and in some neighborhoods hail has been replaced by hail with significant chunks of ice.

Drivers warn that not all the streets of the capital are passable. For example, the traffic light intersection near Gariūnai Market is no longer operational, there is a lot of water on the road, drivers are cautioned to drive with extreme caution or wait until the item calms down.

Water also flows rapidly towards Geležinio Vilko Street, the amount of precipitation here is such that not all cars pass.

It is also noted that there is no shortage of felled trees on the outskirts of Vilnius, so you must drive very carefully.
