Today, the Lithuanian team will start the last window of the European Championship qualifying round, in which it will compete for a place in the main tournament in a match with the Czech Republic and Denmark.
Lithuania National Team / Calendar
Darius Maskoliūnas students are behind the European Championship after four matches: they take third place. From Group C, one of the championship hosts, the Czech Republic, and two other stronger teams in the group will automatically advance to the championship.
The website “BasketNews.lt” reviews the current situation of the Lithuanian team competing for a place in the European Championship.
Scoreboard:
In this window, the Lithuanians will first face the Czech Republic in Vilnius and then the Danish national team. If ours beats the Czechs and Denmark loses to the Belgians, then Lithuania will have a win over Denmark by at least one point and ours will advance to the European Championship.
If the Lithuanians lost the last match to the Danes, Darius Maskoliūnas students would be left behind in the European championships.
If the Lithuanians beat the Czech Republic and Denmark against Belgium on the first day of the bubble, the scenario remains largely the same. The Lithuanians will still have to defeat Denmark, because otherwise they would lose to Belgium, because they have a mutual advantage over Lithuania. The Belgians won the first match 86:65 and lost the second 71:84.
If the Lithuanians lost to the Czech Republic and Denmark defeated Belgium, then the Lithuanians would have to beat Denmark by at least 5 points in the deciding match and thus gain a mutual advantage, because the first duel ended in our failure 76:80.

The Belgians can complicate their situation by losing both matches, but even in this case, they have a 16-point advantage over Denmark, winning their opening match 88:72. So if the mini-miracle doesn’t happen, the Belgians already have one foot in the European Championship.
In theory, a scenario is possible where all teams will come together after equal wins. This requires Lithuania to lose to the Czech Republic but defeat Denmark, and Belgium to give way to both the Danes and the Czechs.
If two or more teams win equally, the FIBA teams will be classified as follows:
1. Looking at the difference between matches;
2. The next factor is the number of points scored in the game;
3. If this is not enough, consider the ratio of all points scored / lost in the group;
4. Finally, if there is equality after the third point, the decisive factor is the number of points obtained throughout the selection stage.
