Border guards who monitor movement between municipalities these days hear a variety of reasons why drivers must enter a neighboring area. The SBGS selected 10 most interesting cases when drivers informed border guards about their travel destinations during Christmas. None of these people were punished by SBGS officials, only wishing them a good holiday and ordering the car to be turned around.

3. The driver transporting the bag of potato peels from Pagėgiai had to reach his garden plot in Jurbarkas municipality, because this waste had to be composted.

4. Two people from Druskininkai were ready to go to Lazdijai district because they wanted to swim in the lake.

Control of inter-municipal operations is generally carried out by SBGS officials in border regions, recalled the head of SBGS Prevention Division, Giedrius Mišutis, in a statement published on Sunday.
