Jonava “CBet”, who dominated the final, won the NKL – VIKINGLOTT champion title and the right to play in the Lithuanian basketball league for the first time in the club’s history.

Pupils of Virginijus Šeškaus in the final of the quartet held in Jonava 100: 66 (24:14, 19:20, 35:18, 22:14) defeated the Telšiai basketball players.
In the regular season, CBet ranked first and were among the four strongest teams in the league when they defeated Šilutė 3-1 in the quarterfinals.
24 of CBet’s 29 victories this season were won by more than 10 points, and in the playoffs, Šeškus students won 5 times, giving it a 20.4-point lead.
Edvinas Šeškus was chosen MVP of the four finalists. The defender, who scored 8 points in the semifinals, was in the final and scored 26 points (4/5 doubles, 6/7 trit.) In 29.5 minutes, he bounced 4 and took 3 balls, made 2 assists, made 2 errors and scored 31 utility points.
The hosts started the game better, running 8: 0 and after Laimonas Kisielius’s long throw they gained a 7-point lead (18:11). At the end of the first half, Jonavis jumped again (6: 0), and after Ignas Labutis the two-point lead increased to double digits (24:14).
In the second quarter, CBet moved further away, with 11: 0 and climbing to 18 points after the colón from Šeškus (42:24).
However, Telšiai’s team was not going to capitulate early, breaking 8: 0 before the long break and reducing the difference to a single sign (34:43) after Andrius Gaidis’ free throws.
The champion emerged in the third quarter. Šeškus’s pupils scored 35 points in 10 minutes, allowing Telšiai at the time to shoot 9 points and 26 points after Tomas Delininkaiitis’s two-point lead in the last second of the quarter (78:52).

Before the game, Darius Maskoliūnas, former player and coach of Kaunas “Žalgiris” and the Lithuanian team of Jonava, was honored. His shirt was raised on the roof of the arena in front of his loved ones.
Maskoliūnas, who recently turned 50, was unable to attend the solemn ceremony because he still works on the coaching staff of Club Barcelona in Spain.
