On the recently rebuilt Naugarduko Street, a terrible disaster occurred in the center of Vilnius. The car struck a man on a renovated street criticized by road safety experts. The pedestrian was found under the car. The rescuers were dispatched immediately: their team is only a couple of hundred meters away. The lightning bolts reached the scene of the disaster and pulled the pedestrian; he was no longer dead. A 70-year-old man died. A witness speculates that the pedestrian was lying on the street:
“I don’t know. Apparently it was alive, but unconsciously, it could be. I didn’t see it, I saw the action itself that went through it. Lying, there was none. If I had fired it, it would still be some inertia.”

The man who got under the wheels is about 71 years old. People doubt that the pedestrian has crashed:
“Because there was no speed here. Maybe something bad happened or something.”
The surprised 81-year-old driver does not tell the camera about the accident, but presented such a version that he probably ran into a person who had already fallen.
Naugarduko street has been innovatively rebuilt: parking spaces are closer to the middle of the street, the space left on the street for parking spaces, and the sidewalk for cyclists. Specialists criticize this remodeling of the street: the new order reduces security, makes it more difficult to see people enter the street and cars enter. It is quite possible that if the cars were parked normally, the VW driver would have noticed a person on the street.
There is a crossing nearby, but it is speculated that a pedestrian may have entered the street outside the crossing. The police are still clarifying the circumstances of the accident; The front of the car is not damaged, but the dusty hood gives away someone who is touching it. Maybe the pedestrian still blocked the hood.
