Indianapolis basketball players died from a horrible end to the game. Midway through the fourth quarter, the Pacers were still leading by a record six-point lead (116: 110), but then fell into a hole and sank.
D. Sabonis scored up to 35 points (11/16 two points, 1/3 three points, 10/15 penalties) in 37 minutes on the court, bounced 11 balls, made 6 assists, took control of the ball 2 times and committed 5 mistakes.
Lithuania only lost one point before their career record. This match also marked another achievement in the career of D. Sabonis. The aggressive midfielder threw up to 15 penalties, most in his career.
The Lithuanian clearly dominated the square and scored 15 points in the third quarter alone.
However, late in the game, the talent of Wizards leader Russell Westbrook shone brightly on the floor.
He scored 35 points in this game (10/20 from two points, 4/6 from three points, 3/5 from penalties), bounced 14 balls and had up to 21 assists.
It was his 16th triple-double in a Wizards jersey and he became the club’s record holder.
Westbrook became the first player in NBA history to score 35 points per game, 10 rebounds and 20 assists.
The Washington team was not helped by Bradley Beal, Davis Bertan and Ish Smith in the game, and the Pacers played without TJ Warren and Doug McDermott.
The Pacers are ninth in the Eastern Conference, while Washington basketball players are in twelfth place.
