European scientists were interested in the Lithuanian species: these creatures have a special meaning

As snails are very sensitive to any change in natural conditions, their presence in the area shows that the area has remained intact for centuries.

Snails belonging to the Sukten family grow only 2-3 mm in size, live in natural grasslands and alkaline swamps of the low bog type. It was these habitats that were discovered in the Sirvėtai Regional Park, in the salt marshes of Lake Salotis and in the surrounding grasslands.

In this report, an opportunity to observe the special microworld of Lithuanian nature through the eye of a microscope.
