In the latest Euro Hoops rankings, journalist John Rammas ranked Žalgiris in seventh place five weeks ago, and now he has dropped Kaunas residents to three spots, in tenth place.
An official Euroleague partner points out that Martin Schiller’s pupils had 8 wins at home and suffered 6 losses, while at that time they won 50% of the matches in 14 matches.
In total: 15 wins and 13 losses. That’s three more than Žalgiris had under Šarūnas Jasikevičius last year.
This season, Žalgiris earns an average of 77.4 points and spends 76.8 points each.
“Kaunas” Žalgiris “has lost 6 times in the last ten matches and is not in the top eight. The next two matches are awaiting Turkish giants Anadolu Efes and Fenerbahce. It will not be easy for Žalgiris to recover from these teams. Kaunas residents remain solid in defense (fifth place), but fail to improve the stuck attack (fourth worst). Žalgiris has a painfully difficult time, “we wrote in Euro Hoops.
We remind you that before the start of the season, Žasirevičius lost to Žalgiris on the Euro Hoops website in 16th place of the tournament.

There are six games left until the end of the regular season, and Žalgiris, who is aiming for a ticket to the quarterfinals, now awaits the next two battles in Turkey against the flaming and victorious clubs of Istanbul.
On Friday, the Lithuanian champions will face last season’s favorite Anadolu Efes, who won the last six Euroleague matches by 19.5 points.
CSKA Moscow basketball players were 30 points ahead of the Istanbul team.
Coach Ergin Ataman said after the victory that Anadolu Efes is stronger this year than last year, which is also reflected in the Euro Hoops ranking, in which Vasily Micich and Shane Larkin are in second place.
“2021 is the year of Anadolu Efes. How else if they won 9 out of 10 games and some duel ended in a 30-point victory? Even Barcelona felt the power of Anadolu Efes. The Turks are three games ahead of the Top-8 teams, but the third best attack and defense allows them to rest easy, “writes Euro Hoops.

Next week, Žalgiris will face Fenerbahče, represented by Edgar Ulanov, who has recorded 12 wins in the last 13 Euroleague games.
Neighboring Anadolu Efes finished in a fantastic way Igor Kokoshov’s ten victories (106: 74). The Fenerbahche conundrum seemed solved, but they responded with victories in Milan and Lyon.
In the last ranking of Euro Hoops, E. Ulanov obtained the third position of the team.
“It just came to our notice then. Offense is the sixth best in the Euroleague, defense is the sixth worst among all teams. It will all depend on the end-of-season schedule,” writes Euro Hoops journalist John Ramm.

The first place was kept by Barcelona trained by Šarūnas Jasikevičius.
The Catalan giant has landed for Anadolu Efes and ASVEL, but this is the only failure in the last 11 games.
In the last leg of the regular season, Barcelona expect four opponents from the top eight, but Shar’s have everything they need to reach the playoffs from first place in the tournament.
