Last time unfavorable winter for construction and the disruption of the supply of building materials due to the coronavirus pandemic adjusted the end date of the crematorium, but now all work is progressing at the fastest pace. This week contractors came from Italy to install the crematorium and filters, ”said project developer Stasys Gvažiauskas.

The equipment made by the famous American-Italian company Gem Matthews will allow the cremation service to be provided in one hour, when in previous generation crematories customers had to wait three or more. The capacity of the new crematorium project is 20 sessions per day, so when the Klaipėda crematorium starts operating, there should be no more queues for this service.

In addition to cremation services, the complex will provide all funeral-related services and goods, including a farewell to the deceased at a remotely set time.

Currently, the new complex of ritual services in Klaipėda is being paved, lawns are being planted and other works of welfare management and lighting installation are being carried out. Following the installation of cremation equipment, the building will be sealed and interior finishing work will be carried out. The preliminary start of the crematorium is scheduled for December this year.

The ritual services complex is being built according to the project drawn up by the Vilnius architectural firm UAB AEXN. The building of irregular shape will be surrounded by ornamental lawns, planted walls, groves and in the future a columbarium will be installed.
