“Which specific company will be chosen will be said later, but it will be the energy company that could be the most practical, we still have to discuss, but the group has agreed that we will look for the most practical solution in Epso-Group G”, said the head of government at the conference.
“We have not received any orders for the implementation of such a project at this time,” said Antanas Bubnelis, the group’s communication manager.
The group unites the electricity and natural gas transportation companies Litgrid and Amber Grid and the constructor of industrial buildings, electrical substations, lines and special electrical equipment, Tits.
Gediminas Mažeika, CEO of Teto, confirmed to BNS that the company could implement the project, he has already been asked about technical solutions, the possibility of implementing the project, but does not have a specific request.
“Really, in essence, the project is really very simple, only the volume is large, but a lot of repetitive and simple operations. Complexity will arise if there are very aggressive deadlines, then there will be certain things: supply chains, peak demand for resources, ”G. Mažeika told BNS.
According to him, the biggest problem would be the various procedures, which are often time-consuming.
“We need building permits, we need to design, we need to change the purpose of the plots somewhere, we need a permit to cut down a tree that is hampering. There will be many procedural matters that are now normally caught up in the law. This is probably the biggest challenge here, ”explained the Teto head.
According to him, it would not be possible to implement the project under “normal conditions” until spring, which would require the state to simplify red tape.
“The preparatory work would probably take a year; I’m talking about designs and so on, but when the country needs it, we work differently. There will be 24 hours and three shifts. If someone else does it, I think they can do it based on the same principles, ”G. Mažeika told BNS.
President Gitanas Nausėda said on Wednesday that the project could be implemented by a state power company, but did not name them.
“I think it could be one of the energy companies that has experience in the implementation of infrastructure projects,” the president told the 15min portal.
I. Šimonytė stated on Wednesday that the government intends to pass the bills needed to speed up the construction of the fence on Friday, which will be presented to the extraordinary session of the Seimas next week.
Cutting a chain link fence would cost more than $ 152 million. euros. It was decided to build it to protect against illegal immigrants flowing from Belarus to Lithuania; this year their number has already exceeded 4,000.
The country’s officials take the position that the increase in migratory flows is an organized action of the Minsk regime against Lithuania.
