The incident occurred at dusk. The animal that fell on the road was hit for the first time by a bus driver on the Vilnius-Panevėžys route. According to him, up to three moose appeared on the left side of the road. Two of them managed to avoid a collision, but one was blocked by a bus in the front corner.

After the collision, the driver was able to stop safely, so neither he nor the seven passengers on the bus were injured in the accident.

The elk fell on the spot and was thrown on the road, so it was soon crossed by another road user.

The bus driver tried to inform the other drivers about the obstacle with hazard lights and a reflector, but up to five vehicles crossed the elk one after another.

The Ford minibus had a perforated crankcase, so the oil spilled on the road. Firefighters rushed to clear the deck. Another driver who blocked the moose did not control Volkswagen and swept the entire side of his vehicle against the metal barriers. Other cars are less damaged.

No person was injured in the accident. The bus passengers were transferred to another bus from the Panevėžys bus fleet.
