According to the movement, Lithuania needs a more direct democracy, which can be achieved by reducing the signatures required for a referendum by organizing direct elections of elders and councils of elders.
Vytautas Radžvilas, who called Lithuania a “country of front democracy,” also says the state needs a radical reform of the electoral system.
According to party representatives, the program also proposes to strengthen the traditional family by enshrining its concept as a result of a male-female marriage, increasing the salaries of teachers and ensuring the vitality of the countryside.
BNS presents the provisions of the program of all participants in the elections, published to the public in a series of press conferences organized by the BNS news agency and the Central Election Commission.
The main message of the National Association is: “We are unique in the sense that we are not political accountants. Our goal is to awaken the collective will of society to once again be a political nation, to defend our interests, ”said movement leader V. Radžvilas.
More direct democracy: The National Union proposes to reduce the “cosmic” cartel of referendum signatures, introduce direct elections of elders and, possibly, councils of elders, reduce the powers of the Constitutional Court and reform the electoral system. “The current elections are doomed to stagnation and a monopoly of the same people,” Rajavillas said.
Traditional family: The party says that once it enters the Seimas, it will seek to strengthen the concept of traditional family and enshrine it in the Constitution as a result of the marriage of a man and a woman and the relationship between fatherhood and motherhood. According to Vytautas Sinica, one of the leaders of the party’s list, to strengthen the family, the reform of the protection of the rights of the child, which is the “memory of the child,” should also be canceled.
Education problems: The National Association says that teachers’ salaries should reach 150 percent. average salary, training in public educational institutions must be provided only in the state language. “No propaganda that presents transatlanticism and alternative concepts of the family as a norm can be disseminated in educational institutions,” added V. Sinica.
Rural vitality: Lithuania should ensure that the funds received from the EU for rural development reach the regions, villages, small and medium enterprises, family farms, says Arūnas Svitojus, candidate of the National Association and president of the Chamber of Agriculture. However, those funds usually settle for 3%. in the pockets of industrial agricultural companies, which own more than half of Lithuanian land, ”said A. Svvitojus.
The shadow cabinet and the proposed prime minister: V.Rajžvilas says that the National Union did not consider becoming a candidate for the party’s prime minister, but in his opinion, it could be A.Svitojus. “My personal opinion is that one of the possible prime ministers is sitting next to me,” said V. Radžvilas, who pointed in the direction of A. Svvitojus.
Election slogan: “Raise your head, Lithuanian, recover your state.”
Expect to receive commands: According to V. Radžvilas, the main objective of the National Association is to exceed 5 percent. barrier and enter the Seimas. This, he said, is possible for the newly formed political movement. “Our goal is, first of all, to at least get to the Seimas, to start talking about the situation in Lithuania, and then we will get the echo of the nation,” said the party leader.
The right-wing “National Union” was established on March 7 in Vilnius, and its philosopher V. Radžvilas was elected president.
The creators of the party emphasize the importance of nationality and the values of Christian civilization, and oppose the deepening of the integration of the European Union.
In last year’s European Parliament elections, the public committee named after V. Radžvilas raised 3.17 percent. votes.
