According to Linas Baltušis, director of Lidl Lietuva’s Sales Promotion Department, the main Easter food basket has not been reliable for many years: it is eggs, mayonnaise and peas and fresh duck. Additionally, shoppers are now much more likely to seek good prices on pork, fish, fruits and vegetables, as well as coffee and sweets.
The most interesting thing is that it does not cost much to get the necessary products and prepare the Easter table, even 10 euros can be enough. For example, in ten Lidl stores, the price of ten white or brown M eggs is € 0.69. An 820 g package of “Kania” mayonnaise is available for 1.39 euros, and a can of “Bonduelle” canned peas for 0.68 euros. A festive duck can also become a real Easter table. Currently, the price of a fresh Peking duck in Lidl stores is only 2.49 euros.

The festive table is unimaginable without one of the most traditional cakes: “Easter Bob”, which currently costs 1.79 euros in Lidl stores. Those looking for freshness should like strawberries at € 1.44 or oranges at € 0.69 per kilo. Refresh yourself after a hearty lunch and dessert with Coca Cola. Its price is currently 0.79 euros.
So, buying all these foods for your festive table will cost you a total of € 9.96.
Exclusive focus on a more sustainable range of eggs
We all want our Easter eggs to withstand all shocks and be the strongest. However, when thinking about sustainability, one should not forget its sustainability either. The head of Lidl Lietuva’s Sales Promotion Department says that the retail chain understands its obligations to customers and the environment as one of the largest retail chains in the country, so it tries to plan the assortment of eggs offered in Lidl stores responsibly.

“This year we put special emphasis on sustainability, which is why we offer our customers a wide range of eggs, including both organic chickens and free-range and litter-fed chickens, and this year we bring the eggs from caged chickens from Finnish supplier Munax This supplier ensures the welfare standards of the hens, and in Scandinavia they are extremely strict, so the birds are raised in a more responsible way, they live in small groups of 60 hens, they have perches and nests for the transition. The main feed for chickens is grain grown in Finland, which does not use glyphosate and limits other chemicals used for growing grains, ”says L. Baltušis.
