In mid-December, E. Jablonskas won the competition for the post of Marijampolė County Police Chief, but resigned from this post after receiving a proposal to become Deputy Minister.

The Ministry of Justice will supervise the prison system and will be responsible for changes in prisons, as well as the prevention of public procurement crimes in the Ministry of Justice and its agencies, and for the implementation of anti-corruption policies.

“I feel that I have built a professional and valuable team with whom I believe that we will successfully achieve the goals and expectations set out in the Government’s program, and we will make the necessary and balanced changes based on well-thought-out and sustainable decisions,” said Dobrovolska.

E.Jablonskas has a master’s degree in law and police from Mykolas Romeris University and has served in the police force since 1999.

He has worked in the Plung District Police Commissariat, then in the Lithuanian Criminal Police Office, Vilnius County Police, and for some time headed the Immunity Board of the Police Department.

For just over a year, E. Jablonskas temporarily led the Kaunas County Police.
