Džiugas Paršonis, a professor at the Vilnius University Faculty of Communication, an information technology expert and a member of LUJ, died suddenly in Vilnius on April 24 after a heart attack, according to the website of the Union of Journalists of Lithuania.
The sad news was shared by Dainius Radzevičius, president of the Lithuanian Union of Journalists (LUJ), on his Facebook account on Wednesday.
“We lost a colleague, a friend, a member of LUJ, a journalist, a lecturer, an inspirer of many young people, an innovation analyst and a great person Džiugas Paršonis. A colleague died suddenly last Saturday. His relatives confirmed that his colleague will be buried tomorrow Thursday at 2 pm in the Antakalnis cemetery, ”writes D. Radzevičius.

In 1993, he worked as an advertising editor and author in the publishing group of the Bank of Lithuania. In 1995-1996, he was the public relations coordinator for the Open Society Foundation in Lithuania. In 1997-2000 he worked in the magazine “Naujoji komunikacija” He also worked in advertising agencies.
In 1994-1999 and 2008 he was a professor at the Institute of Journalism of the Vilnius University Faculty of Communication. Since 2007 he runs a blog www.nezinau.lt.
Of particular interest were electronic communications, social networks, digital publishing, blogs and social projects, Internet law. He was a member of the LUJ.
