Sunday afternoon around 1 pm In the Klaipėda district, on the Klaipėda-Kaunas-Vilnius highway, a bus collided with a police car.
The officers’ vehicle was parked on the side of the road while the officer wrote a report to a drunk, unlicensed man driving a stopped car.
The officers’ car was hit by a Citroen Jumper. A 28-year-old investigator from the Response Department of the Klaipėda District Police Station was injured in the accident. He had a head injury.
At the time, the 22-year-old driver, for whom the protocol was being drawn up, remained incarcerated. It was released by visiting firefighters. At approximately 1.50 pm the rescue operation was completed and the drunk man was handed over to other policemen.
