As NVSC epidemiologist Daiva Razmuvienė told reporters on Tuesday, more and more soldiers are coming to the rescue, and hotels and other organizations are considering employing them.
“Those lines of volunteers have really settled down with two huge tents in the yard, their numbers are growing,” an NVSC spokeswoman said at a news conference.
“Now they are on the ground floor, they have been given a room, there should be about a hundred soldiers today,” he added.
According to her, the National Defense volunteers located in the tents also brought chairs, tables, computers and other necessary equipment; some soldiers change daily and receive training.
D. Razmuvienė admits that as the number of jobs increases, there will be even more shortages and hopes of help from the country to solve this problem as well.
“It just came to our knowledge then. As far as I know, the hotels, other organizations, simply offer to help themselves, so that if there are volunteers, voluntary organizations, they can get trained and really be able to settle in another place, because with us the place is very poor, ”he said.
Soldiers will carry out initial interview procedures for people infected with COVID-19 and compile the information into databases.
D. Razmuvienė expressed his appreciation to the soldiers, emphasizing that this is a huge boost for the NVCSC, which can no longer cope with the workload, although after the soldiers have processed the initial information, epidemiologists must continue the work themselves.
“They are very catchy, they can interview 4 to 8 people, even 10 more interview a day. This is precisely for the Vilnius department, because the most cases are registered, the work really goes faster and they really help a lot, ”he said.
