Drunk driver Hyundai killed a cyclist in Vilnius

As reported by the General Assistance Center, during the night from Tuesday to Wednesday around 0 pm 25 min. A report was received that a car had hit a car on Antakalnio Street in Vilnius.

When ambulances and police patrols rushed to the scene, it turned out that a Hyundai car had crashed into a cyclist.

As the man driving the car later said, he didn’t even see the cyclist, he just felt the blow. It was very unexpected so the car stopped after some more driving.

Running towards the place where he felt the impact, the driver found a beaten man and a bicycle nearby.

When the ambulance arrived, the cyclist (in her 30s) was resuscitated for some time, but her death was later determined.

The police department reported that the driver of the car (born 1985) was drunk. He inflated exactly one prom on the breathalyzer.

The collision between the car and the cyclist was quite strong, the car was seriously damaged.

Vilnius police have launched a pre-trial investigation and are clarifying the circumstances of the incident.
