According to the representatives of the Vilnius city municipality, according to Delfi, the drivers noticed the speedometer installed on Žirmūnų street.
As announced in the municipality’s comment, by renovating Žirmūnų, Minties and Šilo streets, near the buildings located on Žirmūnų str. 22 and Žirmūnų st. 52, it is planned to design and install control devices for speed violations and red traffic lights.
“Currently, equipment adjustment and testing works are being carried out and the validation and metrological verification procedures are being prepared,” the response sent by the municipal states.
The newly installed speedometers will monitor all four lanes simultaneously and will be able to record the speed of moving and approaching vehicles. Those entering the intersection when the prohibited traffic light is on will also receive a “flash.”
According to the municipality, the same device will appear on Tuskulėnų Street in the near future.
