Marius Strioga, a National Cancer Institute oncologist with a Ph.D. in biomedical sciences, said on a social account on Facebook after receiving a question from a colleague about side effects after the second vaccination against COVID-19 infection. Those effects include high fever, severe headaches, pain in the arm, joints, enlarged neck, axillary lymph nodes.
“As far as vaccination is concerned, there seemed to be no such side effects. Perhaps there is a sensible explanation for why so many side effects this time around, and is there any possible premedication?” Asked his colleague, Dr. Strioga.
It turns out that the explanation is there. With the permission of Dr. M. Strioga, we also present it to the readers of the “Delfi” portal:
“The more aggressive side effects are more common in younger people.
The single-stranded mRNA molecule itself is not only a fragment that encodes the S protein of the virus, but can also act as a potent immune adjuvant. It is recognized by endosomal TLR7 / 8 receptors on immune system cells (mainly dendritic cells, macrogags, etc.), cytoplasmic RIG receptors that recognize various foreign single-stranded RNA molecules.
Therefore, a stormy local and systemic inflammatory reaction may occur after the first and second doses of the vaccine. Of course, attempts have been made to modify the mRNA molecules so that these receptors recognize them as weakly as possible, but the body will not be so easily fooled …
After the second dose of the vaccine, the expression of inflammatory reactions is further intensified by stimulating the memory immune response, which is much more mobile and efficient, resulting in a more rapid and intense development than the primary immune response ( naive).
The expression of any intensively developing immune response is influenza-like symptoms of varying intensity, depending on both age and the genetically determined “temperament” of the immune system.
Why are lymph nodes enlarged? So they develop a specific immune response! Lymph nodes are the barrels of the immune system scattered throughout the body.
Fainting occurs after vaccination. This may be a consequence of both the expression of the vasovagal reflex and the expression of a stormy immune response (mini cytokine storm?).
The immune system is the army of our body. And the active activity of any army is noisy, but during exercise (vaccination) it is not harmful, and the course and consequences of a real war (natural infection) may be different …
Similar side effects are seen with recombinant group B meningococcal vaccines. Even premedication against these vaccines is recommended.
Management of adverse reactions – NSAIDs (non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs, Red. past.), such as ibuprofen, naproxen, diclofenac, etc.
By the way, it is likely that the stronger the expression of the side effects, the more intense the specific immune response develops. “
