The lawyer tried to convince the court that the defendants were being tried without evaluating all the evidence. He wanted R. Pinikas and A. Miltenis to be responsible for both the girl’s death and human trafficking. However, the court did not meet this objective.

A. Miltenis and R. Pinikas, who were together during the last days of the manikin’s life, are tried for causing physical pain, illegal drug possession and exposure to a witness. A. Miltenis is also accused of rape.

As V. Gutauskas, an assistant to G.Černiauskas, a lawyer, told reporters on Wednesday, a request was made to question more witnesses in court. It is now planned to interview 5, and 64 people were heard during the pre-trial investigation.

According to V. Gutauskas, it is desired that the judge listen to the people who were the first to find the body of D. Didžiūnaitytė. They saw R. Pinikas trying to carry some things to the girl’s body. This is considered an important circumstance showing that an attempt was made to conceal the evidence.

“Yes, the request to reopen the murder case was rejected, but we believe that the investigation of the case itself would be effective in these circumstances.” Maybe a break would happen, “said V. Gutauskas.

Julia Monaco-Galminė, R. Piniko’s lawyer, also wanted to ask for more witnesses. According to her, the accused does not agree with the charges against him. “In my opinion, there is no evidence in the case,” he said.

G.Černiauskas, who was late for the hearing, stated that he had not yet given up hope that the accused would also be charged with murder. “We have perseverance and the search for justice,” said the lawyer.

The tragedy in the center of Klaipeda took place in November 2018, when a passerby found the body of a fallen girl near a popular hotel. The girl working as a model was found to have died when she fell from the 14th floor. After her death, the girl was found to be drug intoxicated.

Lawyers representing the relatives of D.Didžiūnaitytė also filed a civil lawsuit: 200,000. euros
