After a two-day search, on the night of March 15, the body of a minor with signs of violence was found in the Sudervė cemetery in the capital.
The pre-trial search was reclassified as murder.
Forensic scientists in the capital, using a series of measures and analyzing all the information received, very quickly identified and arrested the suspect of this very serious crime.
The suspect is also a minor under the age of sixteen (born 2003).
During the search of his place of residence, objects of probative value and evidence of a crime were found.
15 minutes knowledge, the suspect and the victim were friends. Furthermore, the 16-year-old had been suspected of sexual assault prior to the particularly brutal murder, but was awaiting the results of the general investigation.
The guy immediately pleaded guilty to the murder. When unraveling the details of the crime, the police discovered that the girl may have been raped and brutally tortured at first.
The teenager is suspected of killing his victim to hide traces of another rape.
He was charged with the murder of a defenseless person to cover up another crime (article 129 (2) (2), (6), (11) of the Penal Code) and sexual abuse of a minor (article 150 (3) of the Penal Code).
According to the laws in force in Lithuania, the maximum penalty for minors is 10 years in prison.
The suspect is awaiting arrest under a court verdict.
The pre-trial investigation was organized and controlled by the prosecutors of the First Prosecution Division of the Vilnius Regional Prosecutor’s Office.
