According to K.Knizikevičiūtė, the word that most accurately describes her is “creative”. The girl adds that her activities span so many different branches and processes of creativity that it is difficult even to summarize exactly what she is involved in. Fashion designer, clothing designer, creative manager, stylist, painter, graphic artist … – just part of the epithets attached to Katrina.
“Art has been with me all my life; I have been looking for ways to express myself and evoke feelings since childhood. At the age of six I started attending music school, playing the piano. After graduating from music school, I entered in art school, I’ve always been interested in fashion and the psychological aspects and strength that comes from it, so I went to study fashion design in one of the most important fashion capitals: London.
After defending my bachelor’s degree, I worked as an assistant for various designers, and for four seasons I worked as a stylist during London Fashion Week, styling fashion shows and showcases. Over time, I started to create my own platform for expression: the clothing brand “Bajoras”. Currently, I continue developing my clothing line, sewing new collections, working on ideas and the implementation of artistic projects, and together with that I work as a stylist, model, painting in my free time and I continue on the path of a creator ”, he says K.Knizikevičiūtė.

The most important work is the Bajoras brand
Katrina is inspired by the environment, the desire to share, the questions and answers, and people and history in general. Historical reasons also contributed to the emergence of the brand he created.
The name “Bajoras” is a form of allegory. This name is related to my roots and my family history: I have noble roots. By the way, since the brand is not named after my name alone, there is always space to discuss the origin of the name and the idea that it carries. The brand that I create is bright and modern, but at the same time educated, valuing durability, quality and authenticity. I would say that it is not only self-expression in clothing, but also a lifestyle ”, says the artist.
According to the designer, the garments she creates are unique not only because of the bright colors and shapes, but also because of the conceptual message that is hidden within each collection. K.Knizikevičiūtė states that his work seeks to educate the public about the history of fashion, art and humanity, to inspire them to be brave and to trust in their uniqueness.
“Focusing on the oldest sewing techniques, the therapeutic properties of color and responsibly chosen natural fabrics, I never forget to send a message with the clothes. Be it a collection or an individual garment created for a client, I try to keep the clothes with art, it may not be comprehensible to everyone, but it really stimulates the discussion, ”says the designer.
Encourage the awakening of the inner clown
Sometimes worn clothes give you super powers and make you feel like a hero from a movie. In creating each garment, K.Knizikevičiūtė tries to imagine a character who would wear it.
“He can be both a carefree and satisfied character with life and a selfish fighter against the system. It would be difficult to distinguish the only type of people who wear my clothes; I usually try to understand people in different ways, but if I had to choose a stereotypical character, I think it would be a clown. And not only because of the bright colors, but also because of the symbolism associated with clowns: optimism, sarcasm, the ability to make fun of reality ”, says the creator.

Lithuania and England are very different countries
K.Knizikevičiūtė has no doubt that London has contributed greatly to his creative path; the artist believes that she would not have achieved such results in Lithuania. However, he adds that the girls he meets are Lithuanian, wonderful people, and Lithuania itself is much closer to the soul of the girl.
“I spent seven incredible years in London. London contributed enormously to my drawing discovery and self-confidence. Here I gained freedom to express myself and I stopped being afraid of being judged. All the experiences, from the knowledge and practice I acquired in college, to the door to haute couture, passing through the characteristics of the city itself, the interesting cultural, artistic life and the people, are also invaluable. However, I am happy to have returned to Lithuania, in my environment only wonderful and inspiring people who work hard and pursue goals, but also learn to live, enjoy nature and inner discoveries. Everything here is much more earthly and closer to the heart ”, says the designer.
There are narrow-minded and unhappy people who live only by the norms and rules of society and the freedom of other people will always make them feel uncomfortable.
According to K.Knizikevičiūtė, unhappy and narrow-minded people who live only according to the norms and rules of society are everywhere and the freedom of other people will always make them feel uncomfortable. However, London differs greatly from Lithuania in its scale, multiculturalism and cosmopolitan attitude of the people, which has the greatest impact on people’s freer expression and self-celebration.

“Of course, Lithuania is a more closed state, which has recently experienced oppression (still fighting for human freedom), so it is natural that there are incomparably more bitter looks and comments here than in London. Although I no longer receive negative comments in Lithuania (unless anonymous, funny, cowardly and broken comments), incomprehensible glances at homeland still accompany him. My response to those glances is a smile. I think our story clearly explains why indigenous peoples hide behind the gray and uniformity. Lithuanians are taught to follow, adapt and avoid jumping. Bearing this in mind, I remain understanding, I am not angry and I do not waste my energy on negative people, “says K.Knizikevičiūtė.
Lithuania is a forge of artists
Katrina realizes that although there are still many smoky faces in Lithuania, the situation is changing: people are freer and are no longer afraid to be themselves.
“I am glad that there are more and more bright (not necessarily colorful) people in Lithuania who are not afraid of themselves, inspire and encourage change. We are an incredible country full of talented and unique artists. Mutual support and love only strengthens our potential. I am always grateful for the inspiring messages and compliments, this is my driving force, ”says the artist.
