We fill
The rally near the Seimas on Tuesday turned into a terrifying event in the evening. Although most of the participants parted ways, the fiercest remained.
After 6 pm, the Seimas session ended, but the parliamentarians who arrived to work by car were unable to return home; the crowd did not leave the door.
V.Čmilytė-Nielsen: I will be when necessary
The president of the Seimas told reporters on Tuesday night that they are discussing how to act in this situation and how to ensure that such a situation is not repeated in the future when attempts are made to paralyze the work of the Seimas.
When asked how the Commissioner General explains the fact that the Seimas cannot be unlocked, the head of parliament said she thought the head of state should comment on these issues.
According to V.Čmilytė-Nielsen, a large part of the parliamentarians went on foot after the session, those who arrived by car stayed at the Seimas.
“There is a blocked parking lot and various options are currently being considered. I cannot reveal more information at this time,” he said.
The president of Seimas affirms that she will not return home for the moment: “I am not in a hurry to go home, now there is a situation where I will be in the Seimas building for as long as necessary. I don’t think I will be staying the night, but I will be at the Seimas building in the next few hours. “
A.Sysas: There are small police forces in Vilnius
The Social Democrat A. Sysas, who attended the meeting with the president of the Seimas, said that in 2009 he saw broken glass, but it was not yet the case that the members of the Seimas could not leave.
“There was anger in other ways, now the exits are simply blocked, access to cars and some members of the Seimas are, I hear, direct violence, I think in this case, they can deny that there is any provocation, because it is understood that the Most of the police protect illegal immigrants and withdraw from Vilnius, ”he told reporters.
According to A. Sys, the police cannot guarantee a distance of 75 meters from the perimeter of the Seimas, although this is required by law.
“We will wait, maybe more police will come and the fields will be cleared so that colleagues who live further away can leave,” he said.
According to the parliamentarian, those who planned this campaign understand very well that today there are not so many civil servants in Vilnius and that it is possible to do whatever they want.
“I was surprised that the one who threw that flag (to Seimas member S. Jovaišas – aut.) It was not taken for granted, because it was an act of rude hooligan, but simply they (police – aut.) They are filming now, I don’t want to shake up the crowd. “- said A. Sys.
The MP said he was not afraid of the crowd, but the crowd didn’t listen: it doesn’t matter who left the Seimas, everyone is bad, everyone should be hanged, and everyone has to deal with it.
“Violence against any member of the Seimas is intolerable,” he stressed.
Attacked members of the Seimas
Colleagues from the Seimas gateways reported that the flag had been thrown at the parliamentarian, the conservative Sergejs Jovaišas, and the conservative Laurynas Kasčiūnas had been attacked and surrounded by the third building of the Seimas.
Journalists outside report that the rallies flooded S. Jovaiša’s car.
According to the SNB, the protesters blocked the exits of both the third and second houses of the Seimas. The first parliamentarians, who left the premises just after the extraordinary session of the Seimas, left the building. The rest of the politicians stayed inside.
