Democrat celebrates victory in Biden’s Georgia Senate election

US officials and the mainstream media have yet to announce another winner of a fierce Georgia election campaign for a two-seat Senate.

To take control of the Senate, Democrats must win both seats.

“Georgia, I am humbled by the faith you have shown in me,” 51-year-old black pastor R. Warnock addressed voters on television shortly after midnight. “And I promise you that tonight I will go to the Senate to work for all of Georgia.”

Republicans have 50 seats in the upper house of Congress. If at least one Republican senator achieves a victory in Georgia, Republicans will gain a majority that will allow them to prevent President-elect Joe Biden from following his agenda.

If the Democratic candidates win, both parties will each have 50 Senate seats. In that case, the future vice president, Democrat Kamala Harris, will have the deciding vote.
