D.Maskoliūnas played in Sopot for six years, having gone immediately after the Euroleague win with Kaunas “Žalgiris” in 1999.
In 2003, he was briefly away to compete in Greece, but soon returned to Sopot and played in Poland until the end of his career in 2005.
D.Maskoliūnas helped the team to become two-time Polish champion, win two Cups, one Super Cup, and in 2013-2015 he returned to work in Sopot as a coach.

Now celebrating its 25th anniversary, the Sopot Club paid tribute to the 49-year-old Lithuanian.
In the selection of the club’s best players, D. Maskoliūnas received 68 percent. and competed with Lukashos Kosarek, Šarūnas Vasiliauskas, Igor Miličičius, Christian Dalmau.
The current coach of the Lithuanian national team, D.Maskoliūnas, currently works on the Šarūnas Jasikevičius coaching staff in Barcelona.
From Barcelona with glass in hand, he thanked the fluent Polish and conveyed his wishes to his former club.
