With a minute and a half to go in Limoges, the score remained the same (81:81), but shots from Marcus Ginyard and Speedy Smith killed Hapoel, and Chris Kramer’s colon could not save.
Hapoel’s only consolation was that they won six points at home to the French club, so they were not allowed to move up from last in the group. This result is all the more disappointing given the fact that the Jerusalem club also left the Balkan League last week.
Israel, one of the Champions League favorites, unexpectedly fell behind the Top 16. D. Adomaitis took over the team in a difficult situation: Oded Kattash went to the Athens “Panathinaikos” only after the fifth round.
