Dainius adomaitis He is already starting work at the Hapoel Club in Jerusalem and officially introduced himself to the Israeli media and fans by attending a press conference.

“Thanks to the club leaders for the invitation. I am happy to be here, it is a great honor for me. I know what it means to play in this environment, it is something special. I think the fans of this stadium will be back soon, they will be happy and proud of us.

The objectives are clear: we have to make the most of what we have, sacrifice one hundred percent every time we are in the field. My mentality is the following: we will not look far, we will try to see all the training sessions and games that are coming, ”said the Lithuanian.

– Have you seen the last game, what is your impression of the team?

– I have seen more than one game and I liked it. There is a lot of talent in the team, they play with the right mindset. The former coach did a great job here, the players know each other well, they played together for a long time. Then we will continue on our way.

– How do you assess the team’s chances in the Champions League?

– There are still possibilities and we will fight for it. The game against Limoges will be important, but now we are not thinking about the Champions League, we are looking at Sunday’s game.

– What is the challenge of taking over the team in the middle of the season?

– Yes, it is a challenge, it is not easy, but I like it. The most important thing is that the team is good, it plays good basketball, the organization is excellent. Now everyone is trying to help me and I love everything around me. Step by step I will try to convey my ideas.

– You worked in Lithuania for a long time, now you have come to Israel, what are your expectations for yourself and your family?

– This is one of the most beautiful countries, I have played here many times, in different cities. The people here are great, friendly. My family visited here during the European Championship, my daughters liked it, they said: if there is an offer from Israel, we go there.

– Will going to another country be a departure from the comfort zone for you?

– We are talking about basketball. This is my whole life. When I started playing when I was young, I trained twice a week, then I became a professional player and then a coach. Basketball is similar everywhere because you play with a ball, 5 against 5. Of course, the Israeli League has its own characteristics, the Champions League, it is also a challenge, I have to pass it and I am ready for it.
