The Cypriot Minister of Transport, Communications and Public Works, Yannis Karusos, announced that, for the moment, the resumption of international air transport is planned in two phases: the first phase will last from June 9 to 19, and the second phase will begin on June 20th.

During the first stage, flights will only be allowed from Greece, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Slovenia, Slovakia, Israel, Malta, Hungary, Germany, Denmark, Austria, Norway, Finland.

In the second stage, air traffic with Poland, Estonia, the Czech Republic, Croatia, Switzerland and Romania is planned to resume.

The Minister noted that from 9 to 19 June, those arriving in Cyprus from the top countries on the list must present a negative result certificate of a coronavirus test carried out in a certified laboratory no earlier than 72 hours before the flight. As of June 20, such a requirement will no longer apply to them.

To the extent that such a requirement applies to residents of the states in the second list, Y. Karusos did not say so.

New tourist admission rules in Cyprus are expected to be announced soon. Hotel check-in is only expected to be possible online, hotel staff will be required to wear protective face masks and hotel guests’ bags will be mandatorily disinfected on site and then delivered to rooms.
