There is a saying: if you want, you can fasten it to a pole. However, in Šilutė it is impossible not to fasten it to a pole. The electrical pillar is old and, thanks to its support, the road users paved the exit of the adjacent street.
Šilutiškės Virgina’s house is located right next to the mentioned pillar. The woman says she couldn’t believe her eyes when she saw such a picture after the road workers’ work. The pillar has almost become an object of attraction in Šilutė.
“Well, big cars go, they don’t bend. Obstacle. The sign was placed, there is no sign left, there is no warning. Everyone who goes here is represented here on that pillar as the largest monument,” says Virgina de Šilutė .
As the exit and the bike path intersect at the post support, another neighbor on this street, Ambrozina, says he almost hits him when he thinks of himself. While riding a bicycle, the woman simply did not expect such an obstacle.
“Since time immemorial, the road has been paved here, and it remained that way, it was not removed,” says Ambrozina from Šilutė.
It turns out that such a strange derivation did not come from someone who multiplies alcohol. Šilutė officials are fighting for the energy of this pillar. According to officials, it was necessary to pave the way, because deadlines were under pressure, and representatives of the ESO company promised to move the pole only if all overhead power lines were renewed under the city’s budget.
“ESO had established conditions for the municipality to rebuild the entire airline on Ramučių street to be able to gather all that support. Which is more than 50 thousand in monetary terms. For support. They pressured the municipality to frame that (fact – past ed.) reconstruction of all street networks, “says Mindaugas Oželis, representative of the Šilutė district municipality.
“That such organized crime of municipalities is happening throughout Lithuania, I believe that the Seimas and the Government should make a decision on the illegality of ESO’s actions,” said Virgilijus Pozingis, Director of the Šilutė District Municipal Administration.
The position of the ESO representatives is the opposite. According to them, the officials are in charge of the construction of this road, so they had to pay for the energy to attract the pole. But not really for all the chains on that street. Not only that, the energetics say that by paving it around the electric pillar in this way, road users could have died.
“It just came to our attention then. While they were working, the road users paved the way for an active airline, putting themselves and others in danger. The municipality had to pay for these excavations, as it was the municipality that carried out the road repairs. According to the procedure of the law, the consumer or another person, at whose request the energy object is rebuilt or relocated, pays those costs “, says Paulius Kalmantas, ESO representative.
While energy workers argue with officials, the post continues to amaze passersby. Residents of Šilutė say they have seen such images before, at least in online jokes about backward foreign countries.
